As happy as we are to hear that Mineralogy has definitely surrendered 15 out of 16 permits, we were disappointed to learn (via OIA) that it is the Wharekawa permit they have opted to keep... so that covers an area of more than 19,000 hectares on the Eastern seaboard of Te Tara o Te Ika a Maūi the Coromandel Peninsula... that's it outlined in this image in turquoise - all the area between Whangamatā and Tairua - and beyond!!! We are still waiting to hear if the other permits are just going to be
