The Namibian Correctional Service, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Services, successfully concluded tuberculosis (TB) screening at Windhoek Correctional Facility from 7 to 12 May 2025. A total of 904 inmates were screened as part of a national effort to curb the spread of tuberculosis in correctional facilities. The Namibian Correctional Service has launched the one-way Telio telephone system at the Walvis Bay and Swakopmund correctional facilities to enable inmates to communicate with the outside world.
