The second day of the 2025 MLB playoffs is in the books and three out of four series are headed to a do-or-die Game 3. The Los Angeles Dodgers are the lone team to wrap up their Wild Card Series, sweeping the Cincinnati Reds in dominating fashion.
The Wild Card Series continues with a full slate of games on Wednesday, starting with the AL Central champion Cleveland Guardians looking to stay alive against the Detroit Tigers (1 p.m. ET). The same goes for the San Diego Padres, who need to win to force a rubber match against the Chicago Cubs (3 p.m. ET).
Yankees infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. was left out of the starting lineup for Game 1 of their wild-card series against the Red Sox, which New York lost 3–1. Manager Aaron Boone chose to instead play Amed Rosario, leaving Chisholm to only substitute in on defense late in the game and take one at-bat.
