The U.S. is considering suspending Spain from NATO, according to a news report citing a Pentagon email, over alleged lack of cooperation in Iran operations.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has brushed off reports suggesting the Pentagon is considering punitive measures against NATO allies, including Spain, for their reluctance to support American operations in the Iran war.

The Pentagon is reported to be mulling whether to suspend Spain from NATO, according to an unidentified U.S. official referring to a U.S. Defense Department email, and quoted by the Reuters news agency.
