On the first day of full operations for Mumbai Metro Line 3's Aqua Line Phase 1, 20,482 passengers used the underground corridor by 9 pm on Tuesday, following a ridership of 18,015 on the initial day of commercial operation on Monday.

The 33.5-km long rail line running along Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ is the first underground metro corridor of Mumbai. It will connect the Cuffe Parade business district in the extreme south of the city to SEEPZ in the north-central area with 26 underground and one at-grade station.

The 12.69km Aarey Colony JVLR-BKC stretch is part of the Aqua Line, which extends from Aarey to Colaba. In total, the Metro Line 3 is 33.5km-long

Phase 1 connects Bandra Kurla Complex to Aarey JVLR in Mumbai’s suburbs. The 12.5 km route links both airport terminals and the Ghatkopar-Andheri-Versova Metro, enhancing connectivity for Mumbaikars.
