Pop legends Mariah Carey, Jennifer Hudson, Chaka Khan, and others lit up the stage with iconic performances during the star-studded 50th anniversary celebration of the American Music Awards on October 6.

Jennifer Hudson will honor 22-time AMA winner Whitney Houston, one of the top AMA winners of all time, with a performance tribute; and country superstar and five-time AMA winner Kane Brown will celebrate the legacy of Country Music at the American Music Awards with a performance of classic and current hits.

The evening will celebrate half a century of groundbreaking music, iconic moments, unforgettable performances and rich pop-culture history.

CBS and Dick Clark Productions announced additional performances and special appearances including musical powerhouses Nelly, Nile Rodgers & CHIC, and Sheila E. on the AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS 50TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL,

For the occasion, Carey selected a strapless Schiaparelli gown featuring a draped bodice and a floor-length train. Crafted from ecru satin and black velvet, her frock’s fitted bustier was fashioned with a half-moon neckline.
