Meta has hired Ruoming Pang, Apple’s head of AI models, to join its Superintelligence Labs division. This follows a wave of high-profile hires from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google as Meta builds its AGI team.

Meta Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg has been on a hiring spree, bringing on major AI leaders including Scale AI’s Alexandr Wang, startup founder Daniel Gross and former GitHub CEO Nat Friedman with high compensation.

Ruoming Pang, who currently leads Apple's foundation AI models, is leaving to join Meta's Superintelligence Labs. Pang's departure underscores challenges in Apple's AI division and Meta's aggressive bid for AI supremacy.
