Julio César Chávez Jr., son of boxing legend, was detained by immigration authorities over visa issues, criminal charges and alleged cartel affiliations.

Chávez was detained in front of his home in Los Angeles and will be deported to Mexico, where he faces organized crime charges, authorities said.

Chávez, formerly the world middleweight champion, was detained by immigration officials in California. He is wanted on organized crime charges in Mexico, DHS said.
