“Travelers are advised to monitor their flight status and contact their airline for updates,” the airport wrote in a social media post.

The agency received over 12,000 applications in less than two days, making the effort “wildly successful,” according to Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy.

The ban was extended until Sept. 3 and prohibits all U.S. airlines from operating within 10,000 feet of the Caribbean country.
