Russia launched a ballistic missile and more than 100 drones at Ukraine overnight, none of which hit Kyiv, after US President Donald Trump's statement that Russian President Vladimir Putin had agreed to pause air strikes on the capital and other "various towns" until February 1.
Russia fired almost 300 drones, 18 ballistic missiles and seven cruise missiles at eight regions overnight, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on social media.
Russia has been mounting Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite systems on its attack drones to strike deeper into Ukraine, extending their potential flight range to well inside NATO territory, analysts and Ukrainian officials have said.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov considers the start of talks between Ukraine, the United States and Russia to be progress in resolving the situation.
Russia is just one of the countries contributing to WW3 fears as global tensions increase. Recently, Germany began preparing its troops for a possible war between Russia and NATO. Such fears go back to 2022, when Russia first started its war in neighbouring Ukraine.
