Detroit police are investigating a shooting this week that left a man dead on the city's west side. Officers were called to a location in the 14600 block of Plymouth Road near Hubbell Avenue at about 5 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a shooting, according to authorities. They arrived and found an adult man fatally wounded, investigators said.
The office will serve as a centralized hub for violence prevention and intervention strategies, something Sheffield said the city lacked, even as overall crime declined last year.
