One person has died and others were evacuated from their homes as wildfires raged through parts of western North Dakota over the weekend

In a Facebook post updated at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 7, the North Dakota Department of Emergency Services gave updates on fires still burning in McKenzie and Williams counties.

Authorities say more than eighteen agencies have been fighting large wildfires that began Friday across western North Dakota. Some of the fires have been contained, others continue to burn across wide areas.
